Mark Heinrich is a retired Navy Admiral who has overseen some of the most crucial operational logistics and financial plans of the last two decades. 

Admiral Mark Heinrich’s extensive work history spans global professional services firms, supply systems, and operations in each branch of the United States military. He was originally inspired by his father, a civil engineer for the Navy who spent his career developing lightweight torpedoes. Mark became interested in joining the military himself, and after receiving his MS and MBA in Petroleum Management at the University of Kansas, he enrolled in the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He earned a BS in Engineering and started his naval career as a supply officer. His first tour was on a ship, and Mark entered this exciting new phase of his life with one motto: “Keep doing it until it’s not fun.” Unlike many of his peers, Mark wanted to commit to the navy for the foreseeable future– and after graduating the academy, he spent the next 34.5 years on active duty.

Much of Mark’s career has centered on supply chains and he has established himself as a leader in the industry. In 2005 he became a commanding officer at Defense Supply Center Richmond and oversaw the sales of over one million repair parts and operating supply items to the Army, Navy, Marines, and other agencies. He then became the chief operating officer of Defense Logistics Agency, where he headed operations of a combat support agency and was trusted in the logistics, acquisitions and management processes for over $40 billion in supplies.

Mark has also had direct experience with operations in the Middle East. In 2008 he led a team in Kuwait in synchronizing and optimizing multimodal transportation resources in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Horn of Africa, and the greater Middle East.

Following that, Mark was a commanding officer for NAVSUP Global Logistics Support and Naval Supply Systems Command. In these positions he led thousands of military and civilian logistics professionals in providing worldwide support and directing high-pressure, “short-fuse” deployments of ships, submarines, and aircraft. Later, as a managing director at Alvarez and Marsal Holdings, LLC, he took on a more advisory role as he led consultants to develop business strategies, improve growth, and accelerate results.

In early 2015, Mark became the CEO of the aerospace company, Associated Aircraft, Manufacturing & Sales, Inc., which was originally founded in 1953 as an inventory company. At the time AAMSI had a fairly simple concept: buy inventory and wait for someone to buy it from them. Nowadays, with the advent of incredible and advanced computer systems, the business has changed. AAMSI is a machine shop which manufactures and repairs the most highly powered aircraft equipment and avionics for the Air Force and various other clients, including a large overseas customer base.

After nearly a year of leading AASMI onto a road of positive growth,  Mark decided to take on a new challenge. Shifting his focus, Mark returned to his passion for technology by accepting the position of General Manager of the Microsoft Supply Chain, located in Redmond, WA. With one of the best teams in the field, Mark is leading the way to creating the cloud of the future. As an extremely rewarding and creative challenge,  he looks forward to the future and seeing how his hard work shapes the future.

Mark continues to be an advisor and public speaker for multiple supply organizations, such as The Louisiana International Gulf Transfer Terminal. He has given keynote speeches and presentations as a member of organizations like the Navy League of the United States, and as a guest speaker for nationwide military councils. With over three decades of expertise as a supply corps officer, he provides the insight and the logistical background that organizations need to thrive.
